Ministerial Aliance
Christmas Basket Program

Central UMC participates each year with the Webb City Ministerial Alliance Christmas Basket Program. In 2021, we were able to bless around 30 families who are in need with food baskets.  Fifteen children were blessed as they received a Christmas gift and clothes from the church!
A HUGE thank you to Paula Moore for coordinating the Christmas Basket Program this year and to everyone who participated in making this year’s Christmas Basket program a huge success!

Webb City CARES

Webb City CARES is seeking donations of small jars of peanut butter.
Every Friday, Webb City CARES sends home snack packs with students living in food insecure homes.  Items needed for the snack packs are:  granola bars, Pop Tarts, pudding packs, cookies peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, fruit cups, mac & cheese (microwavable), applesauce cups, popcorn, cereal, and oatmeal.
** Please note that they need individual packages**

Crosslines Ministries

Members of Central UMC help distribute commodities at Crosslines Ministries on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at 320 S. School Avenue in Joplin. Anyone who is not afraid to work hard and gain personal satisfaction by helping others is welcome.
These items need to be restocked in the pantry:  canned goods, pasta, mac & cheese, dry beans, baking mixes, condiments, stuffing or boxed potatoes and snack items.
In critical need are: blankets (any size), queen-size bedding, men’s coats and jeans.

Taking Off Pounds Sensibly

Our chapter meets every Monday from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. (Weigh In Time/Program Start Time)  Max Scale Weight 400 lbs.
We feel that the friendships and fellowship of this program help to encourage one to keep a healthy diet, which is important when trying to lose weight. We are proud to say that we have two members who have lost over 100 pounds!
If you would like to join us in losing weight, or have any questions, please call (417) 392-7356.

Alcoholics Anonymous Cardinal Group

In case you or a friend or family member encountered an alcohol addiction and/or battling it now, the Alcoholics Anonymous Cardinal Group meetings might be a great place to start a journey to recovery. Attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings is a great way for people struggling with drinking issues to network with people aiming for the same goal – to reach and maintain sobriety.  Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem.  There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem.
Meetings are held every Sunday at 3:30 pm at Central United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Facilitator: Dwight Seely (417) 392-7625
