Missions at Central

Hurricane Katrina Relief

Central, along with other United Methodist churches, is planning to help rebuild New Orleans on June 27th through July 2nd.

• Housing: We will be staying at Aldersgate UMC in Slidell, LA.
• Jobs: The work will be construction. Much of it will be on new homes. Putting in windows, hanging doors, painting. CUMC will be atrranging demonstration classes for all of those interested in going that may not have construction experience.
• Who can help: Those ages 14 and up.
• Typical day schedule: Leave for work site at 7:45 am. Return 3:30 pm.
• Cost of trip: $130.00. Rock of Refuge Students- cost is covered. Cost includes food and shelter.
• Final registration and fees are due by April 23rd.
• All adults attending must complete Safe Sanctuary training online at www.moumethodist.org/safesanctuaries. The cost of this is $20. This is for the protection of yourself as well as all of the young people who will be present.
